You Feel Like Rain

You feel like rain; on my sister’s wedding day
After I have put a comb in my hair
(and meant to for the first time in an year)
You feel like rain, on a day when my knees are covered,
And the fabric that is my dress continues to french kiss the ground
You feel like rain,
And a yellow fluid is filling my chest cavity.
You feel like rain on days when rain is not a blessing.
