Taking Stock 2.15

Hey,

How are you doing this morning?

It’s Monday, but by the time you read this, it will be Friday and I hope the week will have been great to you. I just had the craziest weekend and I could use another weekend to recover from that one. Since that won’t be happening, let’s take stock instead.

Making plans for the week. I just wrote my to-do list and I am ready to drop. So many things!!!!

Cooking; I haven’t cooked in a while, which is perhaps terrible and should be fixed, but I am not in a rush.
P.s can you recommend a decent noodles brand, I think I want to play around with noodles based recipes in the near future but Indomie is just bleugh.

Drinking Fanta. A tonne of Fanta. You remember when I used to be addicted to Fanta Orange? Well, that addiction might be back. It’s so bad that last night I went to bed craving Fanta Passion. Save ME! (The new branding is still whack though.)

Eating out a little too much. I’m either eating out (which might explain the new Hashtag project on my Instagram ) or not eating at all. Both are not good.

Reading ‘All The Good Things Around Us’ an anthology edited by Ivor Agyeman-Duah. I got it as a gift from a new friend I hope on keeping. The book is available at Prestige and I’m sure Magunga Books can hook you up as well since they’re all about African lit. So far it’s lovely and Wole Soyinka wrote a brilliant intro for it.

Wearing, this morning? Lipbalm, a tshirt and socks.

Wishing I was less of a clutz. So I needed to have my laundry picked up this morning but I forgot to finish the order on Kisafi’s website and didn’t realise that until it was too late. I now have to wait till tomorrow.

Wanting for my friends to be happy and to win in life.

Playing Sam Smith’s new album, The Thrill Of It All. Do I love it, or do I love it? No Peace ft YEBBA is a personal fave. Listened to it? Do you have a fave? Thoughts? Is the new Sam Smith too rugged for you? Tell me absolutely everything!

Listening to older episodes of TED Radio Hour because… it’s basically my favourite podcast…

Watching; I just started watching The Brave last night. I’m only an episode in though…

Loving the scent of my body mist. It smells like my idea of coming home.

Thinking of my birthday, it’s in a month’s time and I am taking presents if you were wondering. P.s I recently wrote this post on turning an year older for a Kech’s blog, Outside Black. You can read it here; In Your Twenties.

Dreaming of …

Enjoying female friendships. I have the strongest women in my corner and I am all the better for it.

Needing for Nairobi nights to get warmer.

Smelling that body mist I just mentioned above.

Following a tonne of travel accounts; if you are not going to travel, you might as well kill yourself with|from jealousy.

Knowing… I wish I had a clever one for you this month but… you are exactly where you need to be & no one owes you anything besides opportunity.

Appreciating good lighting, we all need some good sun in our life. On the real though, I was going to post this bad selfies I took with my best friend  (who writes the most hilarious bedsitter chronicles here; A Doughnut Lover’s Escape) but I didn’t want her killing me as soon as she saw this post.

Understanding that I need to question everything, and that includes myself.

Feeling better now that one thing has been ticked off my to-do list. Now to conquer the rest.

Till next time,

Love & Potatoes,

V.

On Sam Smith I’m loving Pray and Good at Goodbyes, mostly because they are so relevant in my life.
Also, being part of these female relationships I owe you an apology for being MIA for a while and missing out on your birthday so I will make it up to you, promise love

That whole album is gold! As for being MIA, I understand love… plus I’ve declared the whole month my birthday so you’re not too late. 🙂
